Support — 3D Quick Viewer

Nothing appears in Quick Look

Launch the app once. The Quick Look extension is registered with the operating system the first time the app runs.

The model appears white or grey

That model keeps its textures in separate files (.pmx, or .gltf with external references). A Quick Look extension can only read the file being previewed — that is an operating system restriction.

  1. Open the model in the app
  2. Click "Grant Folder Access…" in the bar at the bottom
  3. Choose the folder that holds the model and its textures

From then on, models in that folder show their textures in Quick Look too. .glb, .vrm, and .gltf files with embedded data are self-contained, so they never need this.

Double-clicking opens Preview instead (Mac; glTF / GLB / STL / OBJ)

Quick Look (the Space bar) is handled by this app, but the app that opens on double-click is decided separately by macOS, and for these formats the built-in Preview app wins.

To open them in this app instead, select the file in the Finder and use Get Info → Open with → Change All once.

Opening a model on iPhone / iPad

There are three ways in.

Reducing disk usage

Open Settings (⌘, on Mac). When the size limit (1 GiB by default) is exceeded, the least recently used items are removed automatically. You can also remove items by folder, by how long they have gone unused, or all at once.

Before you delete the app

Requirements

macOS 15 or later, or iOS 18 / iPadOS 18 or later.
